Haiku To Fall In Love To by Kristen Lem and illustrated by Molly Ha is phenomenal! I had difficulty with this skinny book. This little black and white book took my breath away starting with the Forward and Letters from both the poet, Kristen Lem and illustrator, Molly Ha. Do not skip these pages to get to the meat of the this skinny book because you will be missing a lot of good stuff. I was obsessed with every single page I turned. The feelings and musings behind each line and every single word are beautifully captured. The illustrations are simple drawings but are as powerful as the words and poems themselves. This skinny book grabbed me by my heart strings and began to strangle me unless I let it "fly". So let it fly I did... with tears of pure emotion running down my cheeks. This book surpasses "milk and honey" by Rupi Kaur by a long stretch. Just sayin. The simple Haiku captured my love of words, love of poetry and love for art. So why did I have difficulty with this book you are asking??? This skinny book is way too skinny. I wanted more so I went back to the beginning and read again and again each word, each line, every poem and stared at each picture through the warmest of tears. All of you book lovers, poetry lovers and just plain lovers... take a gander at this book. You will fall in love all over again. I did ...

About the Creators
Molly Ha
About the Artist
Graphic Designer and illustrator MOLLY HA has been creatively interpreting her world since adolescence, beginning with drawings she made as gifts for her friends. Since then, her style as evolved into works seen in the cover art for Passing the Butter and Picking Up the Penny and illustrations for Haiku To Fall in Love To. She finds inspiration in everyday life, as well as on her many travels abroad to locations like the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok and the Gouda Cheese Farm of Kinderdijk, Netherlands. An expert at visually conveying the nearly invisible – the small, beautiful moments in life often mistaken for the mundane – Molly’s work is a little melancholy, a little hopeful, and always evocative and intelligent. She calls is “whimsical, weird, and minimalist.” We call it exquisite.

About the Author
Before KRISTEN LEM learned to count numbers, she was counting syllables on her fingers. This behavior eventually turned into haiku, which she won a contest for in the 6th grade. Kristen continued to write well into adulthood and went on to be published in indie magazine Grunge N’ Art and books such as Beyond Depression: Essays About Feeling Low, Feeling Stuck, and Finding Healing and We Can Hear You: From First Class to Third World. Kristen is also a contributor on websites Thought Catalog, Bustle, Project Girl Crush, Modern Chic Mag, and Talk Thirty to Me. Haiku To Fall in Love To is her first book of poetry, which she collaborated on with illustrator Molly Ha.
